Honeymoon Desserts

I'm not really a dessert type of person, but there's this one dessert stall in Vivocity that I really love to go to. Introducing Honeymoon Desserts. They come mainly from Hong Kong and they specialize in mainly "chinese" type of desserts. However these desserts come cold too, so it's good for a hot day too, especially these few days. Here are a few nice desserts.

Durian Pancake $4.80

Comments: Lovers of durian should really try this. Reminds me of durian Mooncake  during mid autumn festival. They use the meat of the durian plus the pancake comes out cold so it gives the cool melting feeling in your mouth

Taro Sago $4.80

Comments: This tastes similar to those egg pudding serve in Hong Kong only that it includes taro and sago. Not very sweet but still enjoyable

Sago with Coconut Cream with Green Tea Ice Cream $5.80

Comments: This was a new item so I decided to give it a try. It comes with grass jelly and sago. The coconut taste is not that strong but overall the dessert is still tasty

Overall review: This place is always packed and there might be a queue, but fret not because the queue moves quite fast. After a long day, it's always nice to visit this place after dinner or after a long day in Vivo.

Pickat SG

Hi readers, I chance upon this app called Pickat. Found out it's a great app to find out new eateries. Downloaded it and here's my small review.

What is Pickat?

It's a Location Based Social Application that allows easy Discovery, Creating and Sharing of interesting places.

Why do you use it?

Let's say you live in the Tampines and you went to Ang Mo Kio for shopping. When you start to become hungry, you are not sure what to eat. Easy, use the app to help you look for places to eat according to your craving at that time.
It also allows you to look for great places that are near you that you may not know they even existed, it allows you to do review of places, share it with friends, and best of all it has this coupon function which allows you to get discount and great deals. Below is one such offer:

Currently, SK Planet is working with some favourite local eateries to bring you discounts! In the application, there is a “COUPON” tab where you can check out the latest coupons and discounts deals around you while on the go.
From 20 to 30 June, enjoy a free drink at Ya Kun. Just download the app, download the coupon & show it to Yakun counter staff.
Click “DOWNLOAD” coupon and “REDEEM” the coupon only at Ya Kun stores. You get a FREE YA KUN ICED COFFEE OR TEA! Just present this coupon to the staff. This coupon is valid for all 39 Yakun stores, except Takashimaya and Far East Square Ya Kun Stores. Limited to one redemption per user. **Coupon can only be redeemed by Ya Kun staff**
How to Use the App?

You use it by creating themes and "Pick"ing the places that you like. You may then share it on social platforms. You can also use it to search other users Themes or Picks, and even follow them and let them intro interesting places to you.

What is a Theme?

A theme is a label, experience or the perspectives we have of a particular place. Basically I have a few themes: Ahungrysingaporean Top 10 which features all my favourite food. Local food all in 1 place which features the best of local food in Singapore. Other themes like Dim Sum Galore and Steamboat Haven are other themes which I have.

What is a Pick?

Well a "Pick" is Pickat's version of a post, tweet or check-in. A pick is made whenever you create a theme for a Place or Place of Interest. A pick is also when you add POIs to an existing theme. Below is my small guide to making a pick.

First download the app from either Apple Store (Click Here) or Google Playstore (Click Here) and click the app on your phone

Tap the "Pick" icon

Serenity Spanish Bar & Restaurant

So I saw this promotion on Serenity's Roasted Suckling Pig, however when I got there, I was quite shock at how expensive it cost. In order not to waste the trip, me and my girlfriend decided to order something else.

Sangria De Original (White Wine) $16
Comments: A nice refreshing drink with its fruity flavor

Salteado De Setas $12.80
Comments: The mushrooms tasted not bad as an appetizer. But after eating too much of it plain, it gets boring.

Codillo De Cerdo $45.80
Comments: We decided to go for the pork knuckle. The dish is enough to feed 2. Crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the outside. Add some mustard and their chilli and it tastes really nice. Normally for German, they would give sauerkraut, but here they gave mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were nice too, to say the least. Overall it was a nice dish.

Overall Review: A place with really nice ambience, with live band playing nice music. Nice food and nice cocktails. However, I felt their prices were a bit on the high side. Maybe it's because of Vivocity's rental. However, the place was quite packed.
